Aislinn mccarthy - General Committee

Aislinn McCarthy has been a familiar face around BDU Lightning for many years, both on and off the court. A talented player and passionate club person, Aislinn brings plenty of energy, enthusiasm and a genuine love of basketball to everything she does.

Alongside playing, Aislinn has been involved in coaching and player development, helping support the next generation of Lightning players. She also plays an important role in bringing our club community together, lending a hand with Awards Nights, the BDU Ball and plenty of other club events. As one of the younger voices on our committee, Aislinn brings a fresh and youthful perspective to our social media and communications, helping keep our content current, engaging and connected with our players and families.

Aislinn’s own basketball journey is also about to take her somewhere very exciting. In the second half of 2027, she will head to the United States to play college basketball with the Lake Michigan Red Hawks. It’s an incredible opportunity and one the entire BDU Lightning community will be very proud to follow as she takes the next step in her basketball career.

Whether she’s on the court, coaching, helping behind the scenes, organising an event or bringing a new idea to the committee, Aislinn is always willing to get involved. Her passion for the club and women’s basketball makes her a valued part of BDU Lightning — and a wonderful example for our younger Lightning players to see where their own basketball journey can take them.
