Training Commitment

At BDU Lightning, regular attendance and active participation in training are essential to the development of each athlete and the overall success of their team. Training provides athletes with the opportunity to improve their individual skills, build team chemistry, understand game strategies and fulfil their responsibilities to their coaches and teammates.

Training is compulsory for all athletes, with a minimum attendance requirement of 75% throughout the season.

Athletes who fail to meet this requirement may be subject to alternative team selection or may not be selected to participate in tournaments.

Where an athlete is unable to attend training for any reason, advance notification must be provided to both the Team Manager and Coach. Communication is essential to allow coaches to plan and deliver effective training sessions.

BDU Lightning expects all athletes and their families to demonstrate a strong commitment to the club by prioritising training attendance throughout the season. We recognise that other commitments may arise; however, consistent attendance is vital to maintaining team development, preparation and performance.

Injured athletes are still expected to attend training wherever reasonably possible and medically appropriate. While they may be unable to physically participate, their attendance allows them to remain engaged with their teammates, support the team and work alongside coaches to develop their understanding of team structures, strategies and game plans.

Being part of BDU Lightning is a commitment not only to individual development, but also to your teammates, coaches and the club. Every athlete plays an important role in creating a positive, committed and successful team environment.
